Years of exposure had left the original teak worn, with degraded seams and the beginnings of water ingress. The owner asked for a full replacement to restore the deck and protect the structure beneath it.

The original teak had reached the end of its service life. Surface wear, opening seams, and early signs of water ingress meant a cosmetic repair would not hold. We treated the deck as a structural element, not a finish, and planned a full removal and replacement on the vessel's exact templates.
The new deck was fabricated from premium teak to the V78's radius profiles, bonded with modern systems, and hand finished. The result reads as a new build, and protects the substrate for years to come.

We inspected every exterior deck area, cockpit, side decks, and bathing platform, and confirmed that the teak and its substrate needed full removal to rule out future delamination.
The old teak was removed methodically, protecting the structure underneath. All adhesive, fasteners, and legacy material were cleared to leave a sound bonding surface.
The deck was sanded, levelled, and degreased with marine-grade agents, and all uneven areas were faired to give the new teak an even base.
Premium teak was cut to the V78's templates and radius profiles, then bonded with modern systems, with uniform seams, mitred corners, and a symmetrical plank layout matching the original.
Once cured, seams were hand caulked with high-performance marine sealant and the deck was sanded to an even, durable finish.
