A 60m superyacht gym, converted into a guest cabin that matches the rest of the boat

The owners wanted to convert an onboard gym back into a luxury guest cabin, one that mirrored the vessel's existing cabins exactly and added hosting capacity, without any sign it had ever been anything else.

The brief

Despite the scale of the vessel, the owners wanted more guest capacity for extended voyages. The brief was demanding, convert the gym into a cabin that perfectly matched the existing accommodation, with space-saving features, so it read as original. The work was completed in a six-week window.

The outcome

The finished cabin matches the existing accommodation exactly, with a fold-down pullman berth and bespoke joinery. It added hosting capacity for security staff and overflow guests, letting the owners host more people for longer.

  • A guest cabin that mirrors the existing accommodation
  • Fold-down pullman berth for flexible capacity
  • Bespoke joinery, drawers, and integrated TV
  • Flooring and woodwork matched to the original interior

How we delivered it

1

Design consultation and approval

We met the owners to understand the brief precisely, then produced detailed design drawings for sign-off before any work began, confirming the match to the existing cabins.

2

Sourcing and matching

The hardest part was matching flooring and woodwork to the existing cabins. Our procurement team searched multiple suppliers, and specialist pullman bed mechanisms and custom furniture were sourced to the exact specification.

3

Environmental controls and finishing

A dedicated spray room was set up on board for consistent finishing, with engineered double-filtration ventilation to prevent contamination elsewhere on the yacht, since the windows were sealed for noise control.

4

Build, installation and validation

Bespoke furniture and custom mattresses were built off site, then installed with precision so the pullman mechanisms operated flawlessly and the cabin matched the vessel's standard.

“Through careful planning and creative problem-solving, we turned a gym into a guest cabin that meets the owners' needs and improves the onboard experience. Security staff can now be accommodated comfortably and overflow guests enjoy full cabins, so the owners can host more people and stay aboard longer.”
